Sharyn Johnsfounder and principal consultant
Sharyn Johns is the founder and principal consultant of Tenth Intelligence with over 35 years experience in intelligence and law enforcement. After a distinguished 24 year career with the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission and Australian Customs Service, since 2013 Sharyn has been specialising in designing and facilitating intelligence and analytic thinking programs, and designing intelligence frameworks and processes nationally and internationally. She has worked in The Hague, Nigeria, Mauritius, Bhutan, India, the Western Balkans and across the ASEAN and Pacific Island countries – developing and delivering intelligence programs and processes for multi-agency and multi-disciplinary audiences and clients including Financial Intelligence Units, the Egmont Group, Interpol, UNODC and federal and state governments. Sharyn was the main architect and lead facilitator for AUSTRAC’s international and globally unique Financial Intelligence Analyst Courses from 2017 until 2023. She has received a number of professional awards, recognising her innovative and distinguished contributions to the intelligence profession. She has a Master of Justice, majoring in organised crime and corruption, as well as other post graduate qualifications in public sector management, applied management and organised crime. Sharyn is a member of a number of professional intelligence organisations, a qualified Level 1 Executive Coach, and has previously worked as a casual sessional lecturer in criminal intelligence with the Queensland University of Technology.
Mariana Zafeirakopoulossenior consultant
Mariana Zafeirakopoulos is our senior consultant and she has diverse experience in intelligence practice from working in international organisations, criminal tribunals, federal law enforcement; and the private sector – in addition to defence and geopolitics and the education sector. While Mariana has worked in both operational and strategic intelligence environments, her passion is informing and shaping futures. She has designed and delivered strategic intelligence training to the Five Eyes community in the USA, across Australia, Hong Kong and India; and brings her unique experience in strategic design from design thinking, innovation, systemic design and social design disciplines. Mariana is currently undertaking a PhD in trans-disciplinary innovation approaches to intelligence practices, exploring and imagining the future of intelligence practice in a world of evolving complexity. She has presented on this theme at AIPIO conferences in NZ (2018) and in Australia (2016, 2019). As an Adjunct Lecturer, university teacher and trainer and assessor (Certificate IV) Mariana brings her experience in curriculum design and delivery and student collaboration to the classroom.

We have a number of casual consultants and trainers who have extensive experience working in criminal and financial intelligence with tertiary qualifications in programming, policing, intelligence, data analysis, security and counter terrorism. Our casual consultants are highly acclaimed trainers both domestically and internationally, and specialise in intelligence tradecraft, cybercrime, cryptocurrency, security, counter terrorism and analytic thinking training. With experience across regulatory, policing, defence and intelligence roles, our consultants have led teams of analysts in tackling serious financial and organised crime, including child exploitation, money laundering and terrorism cases. Our consultants are ready and capable to build and deliver engaging and immersive analytic tradecraft programs and learning initiatives.
