Sharyn JohnsFounder and Principal Consultant

Sharyn is the founder and principal consultant of Tenth Intelligence Pty Ltd and brings more than 37 years’ experience across intelligence, law enforcement and international capability development. Following a distinguished 24-year career with the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission and the Australian Customs Service, she has specialised since 2013 in the design and delivery of intelligence capability frameworks, analytic methodology programs and cross-agency cooperation models in Australia and internationally.

Sharyn has extensive experience working across Southeast Asia, Central Asia, Europe, the Pacific and Africa, including long-term engagement with ASEAN partner institutions. Her work has included assignments in Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and the wider Indo-Pacific region, as well as The Hague, Nigeria, Mauritius, Bhutan, India, Sri Lanka, Turkmenistan and the Western Balkans. She works with financial intelligence units, law enforcement agencies and multilateral organisations to strengthen analytic practice and build sustainable institutional intelligence capability.

Her clients include AUSTRAC, INTERPOL, the Egmont Group, UNODC, GovRisk and Australian federal and state agencies. She was the principal architect and lead facilitator of AUSTRAC’s internationally recognised Financial Intelligence Analyst Course between 2017 and 2023.

Sharyn holds a Master of Justice (Organised Crime and Corruption), postgraduate qualifications in public sector and applied management, and is a qualified Level 1 Executive Coach. She has also lectured in criminal intelligence at Queensland University of Technology and has received multiple professional awards recognising her contribution to intelligence practice and capability development.

 

Stacey CornfordPrincipal Consultant

Stacey is a highly accomplished intelligence and international program professional with more than 37 years’ experience across intelligence, law enforcement and international capability development, including AUSTRAC and the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service, with more than 25 years of experience advancing Australia’s global engagement across the Asia-Pacific and Africa.

In her most recent role as Program Manager with AUSTRAC, Stacey led the development and delivery of multiple multi-million-dollar international capacity-building programs. Her work has contributed to significant regional outcomes, including supporting the Philippines’ removal from the FATF grey list. A skilled negotiator and trusted advisor, she provides expert guidance on complex policy, legal, and operational matters while managing high-level stakeholder relationships across government, law enforcement, and international agencies. Her leadership is underpinned by deep expertise in intelligence analysis, risk management, and program delivery, consistently achieving results within tight timeframes and budget constraints.

Stacey’s career is distinguished by her strong diplomatic acumen, cultural awareness, and commitment to professional excellence. She has extensive experience representing the Australian Government on international missions and delivering training tailored to diverse audiences, supported by formal qualifications in training and education. Stacey continues to bring integrity, strategic insight, and a collaborative approach to strengthening international partnerships and advancing global financial crime prevention efforts.

Stacey holds a Diploma of Teaching (Secondary), a Diploma of Government (Management) and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. She has also completed specialist training in financial crime investigation and Financial Action Task Force (FATF) mutual evaluation, and undertaken tertiary studies in Business (Marketing).

Mariana Zafeirakopoulos – Specialist Advisor

Mariana Zafeirakopoulos is a strategic intelligence specialist with experience across international organisations, criminal tribunals, federal law enforcement, defence and the private sector. She has worked in both operational and strategic intelligence environments, with a particular focus on futures-oriented intelligence practice and innovation approaches to complex problem-solving.

Mariana has designed and delivered strategic intelligence training for Five Eyes partners in the United States and across Australia, Hong Kong and India. She brings additional expertise in design thinking, systemic design and social innovation methods applied to intelligence capability development.

She is currently undertaking a PhD examining transdisciplinary innovation approaches to intelligence practice and the future of intelligence in complex operating environments. Mariana has presented on this work at AIPIO conferences in Australia and New Zealand and contributes to higher education as an Adjunct Lecturer and curriculum designer.

Many hold tertiary qualifications in intelligence, programming, data analysis, security and counter-terrorism.

Our consultants are highly regarded trainers both domestically and internationally, specialising in intelligence tradecraft, cybercrime, cryptocurrency, security risk, counter-terrorism and analytic thinking. They have led analyst teams addressing serious and organised crime threats including child exploitation, money laundering and terrorism investigations.
